Are you an experienced professional with a passion for precision and team leadership We are looking for a Pattern Shop Team Leader to join our dynamic team working on a weekend shift. In this role you will play a crucial part in leading the team of pattern makers and CNC setters / operators within the Pattern Shop department to manufacture patterns jigs and cores as well as CFRP component assembly machining and drill off including Monocoque.
As the Pattern Shop Team Leader your key responsibilities will be:
Create a culture of operational excellence continuous improvement and collective mindset to deliver the business vision mission and strategy.
Ensure the team adhere to businesscritical data capturing processes including TimeEvaluation System (TES) and the Manufacturing Execution System (MESTEC).
Prioritise work / tasks through the department and aligned to MESTEC priority master schedule.
Correctly delegate and distribute Pattern Shop blockingup and finishing tasks ensuring team members are working to correct priorities to achieve programme deadlines.
Monitor and supervise team members discipline and time keeping.
Ensure shift handover notes are clear and concise across shifts.
Ensure the department support the apprenticeship programme with the correct technical support and mentoring.
Engage and promote 5S department initiatives.
Encourage and provide feedback to TPP and Supervisor to offer solutions and improvements to support as part of the continuous improvement focus.
Communicate clear delivery objectives of productivity expectations to maximise full resource opportunities.
We are looking for a Pattern Shop Team Leader with the following skills and experience:
Possess a recognised apprenticeship or have relevant experience in a similar environment.
Proficient in using 3 and 5 axis machine centres.
Strong knowledge of various materials and their properties.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with accuracy.
Exceptional attention to detail and precision in your work.
Ability to work independently and be selfmotivated as well as work diligently with the pattern shop team.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to share ideas of continuous improvement to processes.
A natural leader with the ability to build engagement and trust within your team boosting productivity and efficiency.
Please note this role is working on a weekend shift: FridaySunday (33 hours)
