Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic

This Position is Contingent with Contract Award Role is based on the Coast of Africa.

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic would represent International SOS on this US government facility. This role will support the delivery of a comprehensive range of medical services. The candidate will provide advanced medical care and support during emergency situations including assessment treatment and transportation of patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills the ability to work in highpressure environments and a commitment to patientcentered care.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess emergency resources available to determine triage plan and treat most serious injuries first. 
• Evaluate the patients condition on the scene and perform preliminary diagnosis and treatment. 
• Coordinate with medical director NP or PAs for additional medical advice. 
• Provide advanced notification for preparing medical facilities to service incoming patients. 
• Follow procedures and perform all reporting requirements. 
• Leading and or participating in team response to an emergency. 
• Drive ambulance equipment in response to radio transmissions. 
• Participate in emergency medical/fire drills as scheduled. 
• Attend training as required. 
• Respond to emergency calls and assess patients medical conditions. 
• Coordinate and supervise EMTs within scope of practice. 
• Perform in support of field emergency situations; Intravenous (IV) line insertions venous blood draws intraosseous (IO) access intubation medication administration and 12lead electrocardiogram with interpretation and knowledge of a wide range of emergency medications. 
• Assist medical providers with procedures and treatments within the licensed scope of practice. 
• Assessment and documentation of the patients vital signs chief complaint medical history prescribed medications and care administered. 
• Maintains supply inventory by checking stock to determine sufficient inventory levels; anticipating needed items.

Qualifications :

Basic Requirements/Certifications:  

• U.S. statelicensed Paramedic NREMT Paramedic (Preferred) with National Registry EMTP or current unrestricted license. 
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). 
• Advanced trauma course (PHTLS ITLS TCCC etc.). 
• Ability to work in a highstress environment and make quick decisions in emergency situations. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). 
• Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred. 

Education Required: 

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent or Associates or Bachelors in related field. 
• Certification as a Paramedic from a recognized program. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Must meet predeployment physical requirements.  
• Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. 
• May require bending stooping and lifting to 25 lbs. 

Other Special Qualifications: 

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.    
• Valid US Passport with at least 6 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current passport during your stay.  
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Applicants with current clearances are preferred.  
• Must be able to relocate for the duration of the project. 
• Must be able to read write and speak English to effectively communicate. 

Additional Information :

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants background experience skills internal equity and alignment with geographical market data.
