Job Description

Sr. Network Azure Cloud Engineer to state Courts project.
Oniste Springfield IL on site 45 days a week on site
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for implementing managing and maintaining the Office of State Courts network security system. This position will safeguard the network against cyber threats and ensure the confidentiality integrity and availability of our data. The Network Security Engineer assists in the administrative technical and planning direction for OSPS technology needs and works with considerable independence exercising professional judgment under the general supervision of the Chief Information Officer.
Network Domain/Email Engineer is responsible managing network domain configurations email systems and ensuring email communications remain secure efficient and reliable across Office of Statewide Pretrial Service. The Network Domain/Email Engineer assists in the administrative technical and planning direction for OSPS technology needs and works with considerable independence exercising professional judgment under the general supervision of the Chief Information Officer.
FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
  • Creates and manages user email account authentications groups distribution lists permissions and aliases
  • Oversees and implements email security practices including antiphishing antispam and data loss prevention measures. .
  • Set up and maintain email protocols (SMTP IMAP POP3) and ensure secure email transmission with encryption (TLS/SSL).
  • Manage domain name registration and renewals including liaising with domain registrars.
  • Ensures secure domain management practices such as enforcing multifactor authentication (MFA) DNSSEC and other network security measures to protect domain assets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve domainrelated issues ensuring proper routing and connectivity for email and web services.
  • Assists with installation and maintenance of all servers and network equipment within the OSPS network.
  • Assist the CIO in the planning development and implementation of the Office s technology needs including planning directing and executing IT operations information security and enterprise architecture.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to endusers and internal teams ensuring effective resolution of issues.
  • Participate in oncall rotation.
  • Travel to local OSPS sites to provide scheduled network maintenance address outstanding concerns and aid with project implementations and consulting when appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. A Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology Management Information Systems Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  2. Four years of progressively responsible experience in a public or private organization.
  3. Two years of handson experience in email system administration or domain management or related field.
  4. A valid Illinois Driver s License safe driving record and proof of automobile insurance to operate a personal vehicle on state business as well as maintain a safe driving record. Preferred Qualifications:
  5. A Master s Degree in Information Technology Management Information Systems Computer Science or a related field.
  6. Eight years of progressively responsible experience in a public or private organization.
  7. Four years of handson experience in Network Engineering or related field.
  8. Relevant Networking and/or Cloud Certification (ComptTIA Network Microsoft Certified: Exchange Server Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Azure fundamentals etc.) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to sit for extended time periods.
  • Professional office working environment requiring telephone usage and ability to process written documents.
  • Ability to travel mostly within Illinois including overnight stays as required.
  • Applicants must have the ability to work some additional hours.
