Job Title: PostgreSQL Developer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Developer to assess optimize and enhance PostgreSQL deployments for our customers. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders to gather database requirements troubleshoot performance issues and implement highavailability configurations. This role requires strong expertise in PostgreSQL database migrations performance tuning and security evaluations along with proficiency in scripting and programming languages.
Key Responsibilities
Assess existing PostgreSQL deployments and recommend improvements.
Document technical steps for PostgreSQL enhancements and optimizations.
Gather and analyze enterprisewide database requirements from stakeholders.
Create proposals for professional services to align with customer objectives.
Provide guidance on custom PostgreSQLbased application development using C/C PHP Python Java or Ruby.
Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues.
Perform database migrations from Oracle and MySQL to PostgreSQL.
Conduct performance tuning for existing database deployments.
Assist customers in upgrading applications to the latest PostgreSQL version and utilizing new features.
Design and implement highavailability PostgreSQL configurations.
Evaluate and recommend database security measures.
Document all work clearly in runbooks and customer communications.
Implement backup strategies and manage upgrades and patching.
Develop and execute data migration strategies based on customer downtime constraints.
Set up advanced database monitoring and alerting mechanisms using industry best practices.
What You Will Bring
8 years of experience in database consulting with strong foundational database skills.
5 years of handson experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
Expertise in highavailability PostgreSQL deployments in large enterprise environments.
Strong experience in database design and application development for PostgreSQL Oracle or similar databases.
Deep understanding of Linux system administration (Ubuntu CentOS Red Hat Debian) and performance tuning.
Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with MS Windows environments.
Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Willingness to travel 3040%.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
