Job Description
As a Welder you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include:
- Safety Health and Environment
- Adhere to all health and safety practices and requirements.
- Promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
- Exemplify all relevant safety standards and procedures as a positive example for learners to follow and prioritise in their work practices.
- Active participation in SLAMs HPHs relevant Risk Assessments and closeout of Safety Actions.
- Performance and Delivery
- Equipment Control
- Ensure effective plant equipment and related machinery maintenance to ensure optimal utilisation and availability toward maximising production and throughput schedules.
- Identify and report defects equipment failures and time required to repair the Supervisor to enable applicable decisionmaking action planning and problem resolution.
- Maintenance Efficiency:
- Support plant personnel by ensuring that the necessary plant and equipment maintenance preparations and maintenance tasks are done following SMP (Standard Maintenance Practice) to improve work practices and operational targets.
- Ensure installations commissioning of infrastructure and postinstallation work testing for functionality are executed following specifications to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
- Continuously monitor maintenance progress and related preparation activities against planned schedules to meet operational targets minimise downtime enable timely reporting and enhance plant efficiency.
- Assistance:
- Assist the supervisor and coworkers according to their level/area of competence and follow company policies when instructed or during the responsible persons absence to ensure the achievement of functional objectives.
- People Development:
- Identify and utilise onthejob learning opportunities to achieve the required competency levels stipulated in training modules according to budget and timeframe requirements.
- Ensure accurate and understandable information provide regular feedback and monitor progress to develop and equip learners/team members with the necessary competencies.
This role is in Engineering & Maintenance HME/Plant (ENG) department on a band J4 level reporting to the Engineering Supervisor
Qualifications :
- Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical
- Trade Certificate as a Welder
- SA Drivers Licence
Technical Knowledge
- 2 Years operational experience as a Welder
- Safety standards
- Mining equipment and machines
- Welding techniques and methodologies
- Company Policies and Procedures
Lockout procedures
