The business area Technology and Project Delivery drives value creation through optimising project delivery procurement operational excellence and leveraging IT & digitalisation. The business area is also responsible for ensuring a workplace without injury or harm.
We are currently looking to recruit an office based Civil Engineer to strengthen the business areas Project Delivery Unit. The team is responsible for the project execution of largescale infrastructure renewable projects of Onshore Wind PV Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Hydrogen in Germany. You will report to the Delivery Director for Germany.
As a Civil Engineer your main responsibilities will be:
- Providing technical expertise and managing the cBoP (civil balance of plant) part of Wind Onshore parks PV projects BESS and Hydrogen plants in Germany during the entire life cycle from development over tendering contract negotiations construction to commissioning
- Supervising and managing the project in fields of foundations towers access roads hard stands and storage areas
- Coordinating reviewing and optimising the design and site layout from a civil engineering perspective
- Ensuring compliance with specifications norms quality and HSE standards
- Preparing scope of works bill of quantities and cBoP requirements for the tender process and contract negotiations
- Reviewing and elaborating schedules and cost overviews in close cooperation with the project manager
- Managing and coordinating external contractors e.g. construction companies construction supervisors geologists geotechnical supervisors etc.
- Monitoring progress of construction and conducting quality inspections
- Verifying invoices acceptance and claim management
- Supporting continuous improvement and lessons learnt during the entire value chain from early design to operations
Qualifications :
- Successfully completed university degree in civil engineering or comparable professional experience in construction industry.
- At least 5 years of experience across the entire life cycle in designing building and managing the cBoP part of Onshore wind parks PV projects BESS or hydrogen plants.
- Broad experience as project and site manager on onshore wind and PV projects.
- Demonstrated experience in working with authorities engineering consultancies and construction companies.
- Good expertise in project planning forecasting risk assessment and budgeting.
- Good knowledge of VOB parts AC and relevant DIN norms and codes of practice.
- Strong ability to analyse understand and solve complex problems and aggregate decisionrelevant information.
- Strong commercial acumen/understanding of complex technological and commercial correlations.
- Ability to work in a team and interest in interdisciplinary tasks combined with the ability to build sustainable working relationships in project teams across regions and functions
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to plan organize and prioritize tasks independently.
- Fluent in written and spoken German and good knowledge of English
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel within Germany usually for one to two days.
