Job Description
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pig Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our pig farm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the farm including animal care feeding breeding health management and overall farm efficiency. The Pig Farm Manage will ensure proper maintenance of equipment and facilities and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily care and feeding of pigs.
- Manage breeding programs and ensure optimal reproduction cycles.
- Monitor and maintain pig health including administering treatments and working with veterinarians.
- Maintain farm equipment buildings and infrastructure.
- Manage waste disposal and ensure proper sanitation on the farm.
- Track farm production data and generate reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations regarding animal welfare safety and environmental standards.
- Develop and manage farm budgets and expenses.
- Implement and oversee animal welfare practices and protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in animal husbandry preferably in pig farming.
- 35 years of handson experience in managing endtoend operations in pig farming.
- Strong knowledge of pig health breeding and nutrition.
- Good problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Familiarity with farm equipment and machinery.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of farm management software and recordkeeping.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- A degree or certification in animal science agriculture or a related field is a plus.
