Job Description
Convergint seeks a fulltime enthusiastic resultsdriven forwardthinking Site Manager to join our fantastic culture. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of assigned projects including planning scheduling direction application engineering procurement field installation startup and close of assigned projects. This position is a key interface with the customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction safety and quality assurance on all assigned projects. What you do with Our Training and Your Experience
- Manage onsite; oversee and coordinate many aspects of projects from award through completion as well as many aspects of assigned projects from award through completion of the project including overall site management of project(s) for successful and timely completion within budget. Prepare project installation plan manage the plan prepare and implement job procedures represent the company in client and site meetings and take and own actions.
- Translate a variety of customer needs/requirements into detailed proposals and project implementation plans to meet Customer requirements; review and approve estimated costs prior to bid; provide technical assistance to the sales force as and when required; supervise project design engineering; supervise installation labor and subcontractors; prepare project schedules subcontracts change proposals and project invoices; assist with project collections.
- Communicate requirements effectively to the project team and broader organization as needed and maintain accurate and uptodate records.
- Of job status job changes material flow and other control records necessary for processing internal and external reports.
- Acts as our customers best service provider at all times ensuring Convergint is their first choice for service.
- Identify potential project risks and develop/implement strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
- Proactively communicate project schedules project change proposals and related project activities regularly with customers and seek to improve customer satisfaction continuously.
- Coordinate the procurement of materials supplies services and controls necessary for the timely costeffective project completion within budget. Manage the onsite contractors and installers.
- Establish project milestones and analyze costs; Exposure to financial systems to review actual vs. estimated job cost and to provide timely and accurate project cost reports; identify reasons for low job site productivity and determine impact on the project; adjust or correct project plan and/or project cost estimates as necessary to meet financial goals.
- Manage the execution and review of all scope of work terms and conditions in customer contracts including cost control delivery fulfilment quality of service and other customer requirements as they arise.
- May perform a limited range of managerial responsibilities including mentoring coaching developing colleagues planning assigning and directing work. Oversee subcontractor selection process and work.
What You Need
- Project management experience in a technical environment (building automation systems fire alarm systems electronic security systems).
- Coaching mentoring and staff development skills; solid leadership orientation; actively seeking ways to act as a role model guide develop and mentor others within the organization.
- Team leadership team building and facilitation skills.
- Show initiative engage in proactive behaviour and look for opportunities.
- Adaptable to respond effectively to changes in situation or information; ability to influence others and build consensus using strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills necessary to resolve problems and look for solutions; solid conflict resolution skills.
- Financial analytical skills including cost control.
- Essential ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members.
- Basic Microsoft Outlook Project Excel Word and PowerPoint skills.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles.
Requirements:
- Education: Educated in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum Experience: 2 years of relevant engineering field service or supervision experience
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: electronic fire alarm & life safety building automation and/or AV systems
- Previous project supervisory experience
- Certifications & Licenses: Project Management Institute (PMI) certification; industryspecific certifications and/or licenses;
- Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
