Job Description
Job Title: Survey CAD Technician
Location: Rochester MI (Hybrid)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Survey CAD Technician to join our team in the civil engineering and surveying industry. This hybrid role requires experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation or GeoPAK and involves creating accurate designs plans and surveys for a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic mathematical calculations including pipe slopes areas and volumes.
- Develop and detail construction plans by processing raw information from designers.
- Follow CAD standards conventions and guidelines to maintain uniformity in work products.
- Review and verify plans for accuracy and completeness.
- Import survey data into Civil 3D and produce boundary topographical ALTA and asbuilt surveys.
- Generate stakeout coordinates and plot information for field crews.
- Create site plans utility layouts and profiles for proposed and existing designs.
- Plot legal descriptions for parcels easements and rightsofway.
- Estimate manhours required for CAD project completion.
- Collaborate with designers to produce highquality deliverables with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of fulltime professional CAD experience in a similar industry.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 MicroStation V8 or GeoPAK is desirable.
- Education:
- High school diploma required; an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- Alternatively at least 5 years of civil engineering/surveying drafting experience may substitute for education requirements.
- Skills:
- Understanding of the metric system and ability to convert between metric and English measurements.
- Proficiency in reading writing and presenting technical information effectively.
- Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions and solve problems using industrystandard tools.
- Additional Experience:
- A minimum of 40 hours of additional field experience is preferred.

- Primarily officebased with moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.

- Frequent sitting and use of hands for tools and controls.
- Occasional standing walking reaching kneeling crouching or crawling.
