Job Description
Position: Industrial Electrician Underground
Location: Gouverneur NY (Onsite)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join an underground zinc mining operation in northern New York State. This handson role involves installing troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in a mining environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical work and the ability to work safely and efficiently in an underground setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and run cable wire and communication systems.
- Mount Jboxes control boxes and switch boxes for mechanical installations.
- Read and interpret electrical prints and diagrams.
- Test and troubleshoot circuits motors fans controllers VFDs and transformers.
- Perform all terminations and splicing including highvoltage splicing.
- Develop knowledge of hoisting and crushing operations to troubleshoot and maintain associated equipment.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial electrical experience.
- Skills:
- Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems and components.
- Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions to perform duties safely and effectively.
- Must be able to perform tasks without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of oneself or others.
