Job Description
Position: Industrial Electrician Supervisor Underground
Location: Gouverneur NY (Onsite)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Industrial Electrician Supervisor to lead and manage the electrical team at an underground zinc mining operation. This role involves supervising electrical work troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems while ensuring safety and operational efficiency. Located in a scenic region near The Thousand Islands Lake Ontario shoreline and the Adirondack Mountains this position offers access to recreational opportunities and proximity to major cities like Montreal and Ottawa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of the electrical team.
- Prioritize coordinate and assign daily work tasks.
- Maintain inventory and schedule materials and supplies for upcoming projects.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical components including PLC panels drives motors fans VFDs transformers pumps and generators.
- Work with electrical systems including 420 mA 4160 13.8 AC up to 480v 5kva and DC voltages.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints and diagrams.
- Provide handson support to the electrical team both underground and on the surface as needed.
- Develop expertise in hoisting and crushing operations to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial electrical experience.
- At least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with department managers and employees.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Expertise in PLC systems DC/AC systems and drive equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and following written and verbal instructions.
- Commitment to maintaining safety standards and protocols.
- Other Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform tasks without posing a threat to health and safety due to the safetysensitive nature of the role.
