Qualifications:
- A degree in Law or a professional qualification in Labour Law with at least 3 years of experience in a similar capacity (preferably in a manufacturing setup).
- A degree or professional qualification in HR is an added advantage.
- Excellent understanding of negotiation techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of dispute resolution and compensation administration.
- Ability to remain tactful calm and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
- Active listening skills and the ability to understand peoples background and motives.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and handle stress and pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Investigating and resolving complex or critical industrial relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Collaborating with leadership on matters of policy and terms of memoranda of understanding before and throughout the negotiation process.
- Collaborating with legal counsel and departments in the preparation for and participation in negotiation with employee and labor groups.
- Formulating and reviewing HR policies and other relevant policies as per regulations prescribed by governing bodies and industry best practices.
- Maintaining employee behavior and discipline to managements expected level by conducting staff awareness sessions on HR policies.
- Executing disciplinary procedures by conducting preliminary investigations issuing show cause letters and proceeding with any corrective actions.
- Maintaining good employee relations by counseling and grievance handling of employees.
- Writing investigation reports of any accidents or incidents ensuring compliance and coordination of Workers Compensation Insurance and claims.
