Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Haringey to assist with the appointment of a Head of Treasury on a 3month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 534.40 673.00 per Day
Responsibilities:
- To be the lead officer responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the Treasury Strategy and Policy
- To continually reassess the Councils treasury position in light of current developments both within the Councils capital programme and within financial markets generally in order for the Council to optimise its position in relation to long term financing options.
- To manage the Councils cash flows short term investments short term borrowing and long term borrowing ensuring compliance with the Councils approved Treasury Management Strategy Statement.
- To assess financing opportunities for the Council and to advise the Director of Finance around the most opportune duration and timing of long term borrowing e.g. from PWLB sources.
- To publish various treasury reports to inform members of treasury activity and to lead on the creation of the annual Treasury Management Strategy Statement.
Qualifications:
- Degree level or equivalent qualification plus relevant experience.
- Membership of appropriate professional body by examination e.g. CCAB or treasury qualifications or substantial relevant experience.
- Substantial experience of working at a senior management position in treasury or finance with evidence of having advised trustees or directors on treasury
Please note:
- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires a basic DBS
