Job Description
The Technical Infrastructure Consultant is responsible for designing implementing and optimizing IT infrastructure solutions that support enterprise operations. This role involves advising organizations on infrastructure strategy cloud adoption network architecture security and highperformance computing environments. The consultant collaborates with stakeholders to ensure scalable secure and costeffective infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Strategy & Architecture:
- Develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies aligned with business and operational goals.
- Design and optimize data center cloud and hybrid IT environments for performance and scalability.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery planning for critical infrastructure components.
- Cloud & Virtualization Solutions:
- Lead cloud migration initiatives advising on best practices for AWS Azure and Google Cloud.
- Design and deploy virtualization solutions using VMware HyperV or containerization platforms.
- Ensure cost optimization and efficiency in cloud resource management.
- Network & Security Architecture:
- Design and enhance network infrastructure including LAN/WAN SDWAN and enterprise wireless solutions.
- Implement network security frameworks firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Ensure compliance with security standards (ISO 27001 NIST CIS) and industry best practices.
- Systems & Storage Management:
- Design and manage enterprise storage solutions including SAN NAS and object storage.
- Oversee server infrastructure ensuring optimal performance and capacity planning.
- Implement backup archiving and disaster recovery solutions.
- DevOps & Automation:
- Implement infrastructureascode (IaC) solutions using Terraform Ansible or CloudFormation.
- Support DevOps teams with CI/CD pipeline integration and automation of infrastructure provisioning.
- Optimize infrastructure monitoring and management using tools like Prometheus Nagios or Splunk.
- Consulting & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with IT teams executives and business leaders to assess infrastructure needs.
- Provide technical leadership mentoring and best practice recommendations.
- Conduct infrastructure assessments gap analyses and capacity planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience:
- 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure network engineering or cloud architecture.
- Handson experience with enterprise IT environments cloud platforms and network security.
- Experience with IT service management (ITSM) ITIL frameworks and governance best practices.
- Skills & Certifications:
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS Azure Google Cloud) and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware HyperV Citrix).
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking (Cisco Juniper Palo Alto Fortinet).
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Cisco CCNP/CCIE or ITIL are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in consulting for government financial services or large enterprise clients.
- Knowledge of AIdriven infrastructure edge computing and zerotrust security models.
