Job Title: Sr. Reconciliation Accountant
Location: San Jose CA 95002
Duration: 4 Months

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Seeking a Senior Reconciliation Accountant with a positive attitude and thirst for process improvement within a fastpaced organization.
  • This person will be a key finance department professional assisting with the reconciliation of customer funds and transactions across our ecosystem at Client.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and reconcile payment transactions of incoming and outgoing data within Clients internal database to ensure proper recording to the funds held by customers accounts.
  • Research exception items thoroughly and in a timely manner and drive them to resolution in collaboration with bank reps Payment Operations Finance Product and Dev teams
  • Assist with audits and reporting needs as needed across the company and ensure internal controls are in accordance with SOX
  • Assist with the preparation of audit schedules compliance reports and or other ad hoc reports in respective areas of responsibilities
  • Perform regular closing activities such as journal entries and reconciliations
  • Strong focus on process improvements and automation
  • Maintain operational reconciliation and exception procedures addressing potential changes due to new products system and improvements
  • Actively look for opportunities to standardize processes / automate / eliminate nonvalue added activities and implement them for process improvements.
  • Support other groups with ad hoc analyses
Professional Experience/Background to be successful in this role:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a fastpaced environment SaaS or software company experience a plus
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related discipline required
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large amounts of data
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of financial reconciliations
  • Experience with SQL preferred
  • Big 4 and public company experience preferred
  • Experience in banking payments or fintech preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Experience with reconciliation software a plus

Expected Outcomes in 12 months:
  • Become expert on payments flow of funds and reconciliation process
  • Fully own reconciliation process of all funds held bank accounts including research of discrepancies
  • Identify develop and implement process improvements
  • Establish strong cross functional relationships with Accounting Internal Audit Revenue Treasury Product and Payment Operations teams.
