Job Title: Chief Accountant (Frenchspeaking)
Location: Kinshasa
About the Company: A very reputed company in Energy Sector
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Chief Accountant fluent in French to join finance team. As the Chief Accountant you will oversee all aspects of financial management including corporate accounting regulatory and financial reporting budget and forecasts preparation as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods policies and principles.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits.
- Provide recommendations for improving financial processes.
- Develop and maintain financial databases and accounting systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data.
- Document and monitor internal controls in accordance with best practices.
- Experience in working with francophone African countries understanding local accounting standards (OHADA) and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with finance teams across multiple locations ensuring consistent practices and reporting.
Requirements:
- Proven working experience as a Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant.
- Advanced proficiency in French and English.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with general ledger functions and monthend/yearend close processes.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
- BS degree in Accounting Finance or relevant field.
- Relevant certification (e.g. CPA ACCA) will be considered a plus.
