Analytical Skills: Data analysts work with large amounts of data: facts figures and number crunching. You will need to see through the data and analyze it to find conclusions. EWA Data Analyst will work on multiple projects at the same time. Work will involve multiple data sources business groups and vendor partners. The amount of time spent on each project can vary during any time worked.
Communication Skills: Data analysts are often called to present their findings or translate the data into an understandable document. You will need to write and speak clearly easily communicating complex ideas. This includes the ability to translate any communication between technical and nontechnical teams at various data levels such as a highlevel business view or individual data points. Analyst must also be comfortable with audio/video conferencing during any given portion of a workday. Working session can occur during any part of the day and meetings are not always scheduled or planned. Communicating the planned process if data is incomplete is critical to project success.
Critical Thinking: Data analysts must look at the numbers trends and data and come to conclusions based on the findings. This includes adaptability to a changing environment during a project. Data should be presented based on the results of the analysis with no decisions on accuracy or feasibility. It is important to keep in mind business or application processes may impact how the data is used.
Attention to Detail: Data analysts must make sure they are vigilant in their analysis to include and report on all the available information. Attention to detail is also critical when working on multiple projects at the same time as projects may share the same data sources or have the same business owners.
Additional Skills/Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (Oracle SQL etc.) and programming (XML JavaScript PL/SQL)
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect organize analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Adept at PL/SQL queries report writing and presenting findings.
BS in Mathematics Economics Computer Science Information Management or Statistics
