Location: Somerset West South Africa

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate
  
• 3phase qualified Electrician with a Trade Test Certificate
  
• Wireman s license
  
• Solar PV qualification recommended
  
• Minimum of 3 years of posttrade experience in solar PV installations with handson experience in battery storage systems
  
• Valid driver s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  
• Fluent in both English and Afrikaans (written and spoken)
  
• Proven experience in preventative and corrective maintenance on solar plants including largescale commercial and residential systems
  
• Computer literate and proficient in MS Office Suite
  
• Strong understanding of electrical codes SANS standards and safety protocols to ensure all work is compliant and safe
  
• Expertise in using various electrical testing equipment including multimeters megohmmeters and insulation testers
  

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design implementation installation maintenance and repair of solar PV systems and energy storage solutions including the integration of inverters generators battery systems and electrical wiring while ensuring compliance with NRS SANS and other regulations
  
• Document and report all work
  
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar and battery systems diagnosing and resolving electrical issues using appropriate tools and testing equipment
  
• Replace or repair faulty components wiring and fixtures in solar installations
  
• Conduct inspections and signoff on solar and electrical installations ensuring they meet all technical and safety standards
  
• Ensure quality control and adherence to SANS requirements across all installations and repairs
  
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations on all projects maintaining a safe work environment
  
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the safety of personnel and protection of equipment
  
• Communicate effectively with clients colleagues and subcontractors providing updates and addressing issues as they arise
  
• Keep up with advancements in solar PV technology and regulatory changes to ensure best practices are followed
  
• Install and configure data loggers system comms and metering equipment to remotely monitor the solar plants performance enabling realtime adjustments to inverter settings and system parameters for optimal efficiency
  
• Assist in developing control solutions for threephase contractors and changeover circuits for uninterrupted power supply
  
• Coordinate a project with minimal supervision
