Responsibilities

At first you would be:

• Working closely with the team to get a full understanding of our products APIs and the infrastructure that sustains them
  
• Getting comfortable with the code bases and environments by debugging issues working on bug fixes and building new features
  

As you get settled you would begin to:

Strategic vision: Drive the teams longterm technical vision and ensure alignment with company goals.

Team Leadership and alignment: Inspire and lead the global technical team ensuring alignment on priorities resolving conflicts and fostering team collaboration and adherence to the company s culture.

Coaching mentoring and performance management: Coach the team to improve their technical skills through PR and pair programming; provide constructive feedback and help individual members grow in their careers.

Upholding and ensuring quality: Uphold quality and consistency of code testing documentation etc. as well as the quality of any deliverables as they are developed.

Building and maintaining frontend and backend systems: Work with the team to build out new products and features; Take a handson role in writing reviewing and maintaining code for responsive frontend applications using React/TypeScript and scalable secure backend services using Python/Django and AWS (e.g. Lambda functions). Lead by example to set coding standards and ensure best practices are followed.

Architectural contributions: Contribute to architectural designs; Guiding the architecture of any new products or features as they are conceived in a way that lends itself both to stability and flexibility

Involvement in project lifecycles: Contribute throughout our projects lifecycle specifying time estimates gathering requirements and setting expectations

Maintaining projects: Includes debugging and addressing infrastructure issues

Ideating on improvements: Ideating on ways to improve/advance the product(s) or service(s) alongside team members

Resource planning: Assisting with planning and resource allocation to meet deadlines and project needs.

Profil

Qualifications and Experience

• Interest in working in the association meeting industry
  
• 5 years of experience in software engineering preferably on backend services or customerfacing APIs
  
• 4 years of experience working with TypeScript (node.js)
  
• 3 years of experience working with React
  
• 3 years of experience with cloud infrastructure/services preferably AWS
  
• Experience with every step of a products lifecycle; from architecture to ensuring quality during the build and delivery process and maintaining stability thereafter.
  

Competencies and Skills

• Adaptable selfdriven and excited to learn new technologies
  
• Sold on TDD and a strong advocate of XP engineering practices
  
• Inventive in developing effective solutions while collaborating with a remote team
  
• Excellent at communicating using any medium (chat email voice video)
  
• Able to manage your time efficiently in a selfdirected work environment
  
• An advocate for organization and documentation in flight
  
• Frenchspeaking considered an asset
