Job Description

3 months contract with local authority

Job Purpose:

To lead the delivery of a wide range of initiatives ensuring full compliance with relevant legislative frameworks and Regional Guidance such as Resilience Standards for London. The role involves playing a central leadership role in the continuous development evaluation and improvement of Council policies and initiatives embedding a culture of resilience across the council and maintaining a strong emphasis on risk mitigation business continuity and best practices in critical incident and emergency management.

Main Duty:

To ensure the councils compliance with legislative frameworks and Regional Guidance lead the development and improvement of Council policies and initiatives and foster a culture of resilience risk mitigation and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Compliance:

    • Lead the delivery of initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant legislative frameworks and Regional Guidance such as Resilience Standards for London.
    • Play a central role in the continuous development evaluation and improvement of Council policies and initiatives.
  2. Culture of Resilience:

    • Embed a culture across the council that makes resilience everyone s business.
    • Ensure the council maintains a strong emphasis on risk mitigation and business continuity.
  3. Critical Incident and Emergency Management:

    • Promote a best practice approach towards critical incident and emergency management.
    • Ensure the council is prepared for and can effectively respond to emergencies and critical incidents.
  4. Policy Development:

    • Continuously develop and improve a wide range of Council policies and initiatives related to resilience and emergency management.
  5. Risk Mitigation:

    • Implement strategies and initiatives to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
