Job Description

Our client who is a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) facility within the Process Research and Development organization which enables gain of critical internal experience during scaleup of clinical supplies manufacturing demonstration of new manufacturing technology/processes training opportunities for improved manufacturing process development and seamless technology transfer to commercial sites.

The Pilot Plant is seeking a highly motivated and technically focused individual to work in a fastpaced job that provides a high degree of technical and project management responsibility.

This Automation Engineer role within the Plant leverages scientific technical and operational experience to support facility operations process development activities compliance investigations and change management processes. The position is responsible for implementing automation changes that meet Safety and Environment and GMP requirements as well as ensuring facility readiness for batch processing. In addition this position is expected to work cooperatively with partners to drive overall success of the plant.

The Automation Engineer is required to be onsite full time and reports to a Senior Automation Engineering leader. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Automation team at the Rahway NJ facility. The candidate will help deliver IT and automation solutions to the Plant. This encompasses a wide range of manufacturing technology primarily DeltaV also includes AB PLCs historians and supporting IT applications all aligned to a goal of ensuring frictionless flow of data and more efficient business operations. You will be able to make an impact by participating in troubleshooting and rootcause analysis to ensure that our automation systems operate with minimal downtime.

Primary activities

Working under the direction of the Senior Automation Lead help develop automation solutions and manage the technical deployment in collaboration with internal partners.
Ensure a common way of working and standardization of solutions across all Pilot plant operating Bays.
Help lead investigations of automation incidents and problems to prevent recurrence including the development and implementation of corrective actions (root cause analysis).
Evaluate automated systems and develop strategies to optimize and ensure the quality and stability of automation systems through future expansion replacement or upgrade.
Onfloor support of Pilot Plant manufacturing / maintenance activities.
Execute change management to document modifications.
Coordinate preventative maintenance with automation system vendors.
Generate Validation documents including but not limited to validation plans test plans requirement specifications functional requirements specification traceability matrices and qualification documents.
Partner with process operations teams to develop and test new or update existing functionality for Automation Systems.
Participate in a regular rotation for oncall support of the Pilot Plant Automaton Systems.


Requirements


Experience in Industrial Automation I&C SCADA systems and DeltaV.
At least 2 years experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment such as pharma biotechnology food or chemicals (cGMP and cGDP).
At least 2 years experience of DeltaV configurations . development / deployment
Experience with Rockwell software AB PLC HMI and Level0 instrumentation.
Experience with automation system architecture design startup and/or qualification.
Experienced problem solver/troubleshooter skilled in root cause analysis.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written in English

Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering Discipline (Computer Science Chemical or Electrical preferred) with Pharmaceutical Sciences or related industries with minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
