Compliance Analyst (AML / ATF)
Our client in the insurance sector is seeking a dedicated professional for a hybrid position based in Waterloo Ontario. This opportunity involves contributing to the AntiMoney Laundering (AML) Operations Team within the Compliance Group addressing both banking and nonbank products. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with AML/ATF regulations and maintaining high standards of operational integrity.

6month contract.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
Hybrid work: 3 office days from Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities:
Conduct AML assessments for referred cases and recommend appropriate actions for unusual activities.
Evaluate daily transaction monitoring alerts interpreting indicators facts and transactional contexts.
Investigate and assess alerts using knowledge of money laundering patterns documenting suspicions and making recommendations.
Maintain accurate records and audit trails for investigations and actions taken.
Analyze ATF/PEP/Country watch list alerts and perform enhanced due diligence as necessary with proper reporting.
What you will need to succeed:
Bachelor s degree (required).
CAMS certification (preferred).
2 years of AML/ATF experience with a strong understanding of relevant regulations and risk management.
6 months of experience in the banking or finance industry.
Demonstrated analytical skills.
Proven time management abilities and capacity to work independently while meeting compliance objectives.
Proficiency with AML/ATF management and reporting systems such as PRM FCRM and FWR (preferred).
Familiarity with a wide range of insurance and banking products processes and systems.
Experience in AML/ATF within the banking or securities sector.
Bilingual in English and French to support clients in both languages (preferred).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
