Roles and responsibilities

Yours is a role to spearhead the development of RX’s cargo revenue systems and pricing models, ensuring world-class innovation and performance. From crafting bespoke revenue management processes to collaborating cross-functionally, you will set the standard for excellence in the cargo space.

You will oversee the design and architecture of robust cargo systems, build scalable solutions, and integrate third-party platforms to enhance customer choice and operational efficiency. Additionally, you will work on creating transparent pricing models and leveraging distribution efficiencies to optimize commercial outcomes.

Cargo Management
Cargo Handling: Supervise the handling of cargo, including loading, unloading, and storage of goods, ensuring that the cargo is handled safely and efficiently.
Cargo Coordination: Coordinate the transportation of goods from suppliers to customers, ensuring timely delivery and optimal routing.
Inventory Management: Oversee the management of inventory, ensuring stock levels are maintained and that goods are distributed as required, minimizing delays or shortages.
Documentation and Compliance: Ensure that all necessary documentation (e.g., customs declarations, shipping manifests, etc.) is completed accurately and on time. Ensure compliance with international trade laws, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Distribution Network Management
Route Planning and Optimization: Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs, ensuring that goods are delivered on time while minimizing fuel consumption and transportation expenses.
Fleet Management: Oversee the management of the company’s fleet, ensuring that vehicles are well-maintained, operational, and compliant with regulations.
Vendor and Supplier Management: Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, and transportation partners, negotiating rates and ensuring the quality of services provided.
Warehouse Coordination: Oversee the operation of warehouses or distribution centers, ensuring smooth processes for storing, packing, and shipping products efficiently.

Desired candidate profile

Degree qualified, you will demonstrate a minimum 10+ years of experience in revenue management and pricing within a network airline. You are expected to possess a deep understanding of cargo yield levers, operational costs, and third-party distribution systems.

Logistics Coordination
Transportation Scheduling: Coordinate with logistics teams to schedule shipments, ensuring timely delivery and managing any delays or logistical challenges.
Tracking and Monitoring: Implement systems to track and monitor cargo shipments and inventory, ensuring transparency and real-time updates on the location and status of goods.
Cost Control: Monitor and manage costs related to transportation, storage, and logistics, identifying opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining high service levels.
Customer Service and Communication
Customer Liaison: Communicate with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders regarding the status of shipments, delivery schedules, and any potential issues or delays.
Problem Resolution: Address any issues related to cargo damage, delays, or lost goods, working with relevant teams to resolve them efficiently and maintain customer satisfaction.
Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on distribution performance, cargo volume, cost savings, and service improvements.
