Job Description

The Marketing Analytics and Business Insights (MABI) team supporting AbbVies US Commercial organization is 200 members strong and growing every day. The Associate Director Marketing Analytics Gastroenterology is a strategic and critical role in the US MABI Immunology organization responsible for leading advanced analytic initiatives to support the Gastro indications. The individual in this role will support capabilities across Data and Analytics Marketing Executive Reporting and Forecasting enabling brand teams to navigate an increasingly dynamic and challenging business environment. Other objectives include ensuring the successful execution of the analytical plan deriving findings and implications from physician and patient analytics to strengthen commercial understanding of subnational dynamics and performance and using analytic insights to identify actionable opportunities to enhance brand performance. This individual will engage with external data and service providers (including IQVIA ZS and others) and be responsible for pulling through brand strategy and tactics at a national and subnational level.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop factbased promotional investment strategies and guide investment decisions from marketing mix/business optimization and other analysis to optimize performance influence business growth & inform the annual financial forecasting and brand planning process
  • Develop nearterm KPIs and longerterm ROI measurements that will inform recommendations to optimize personal and nonpersonal promotional channels
  • Closely involved with financial planning process responsible for input into financial planning process & key conduit to Forecasting for all monthly estimates annual plan and longrange plan deliverables
  • Understand subnational drivers of crossbrand performance providing more granularity to performance dynamics across distribution channels and customers 
  • Leverage innovative sophisticated analytic models that address critical issues but also meet key business criteria (e.g. cost risk business impact) and key technical criteria (e.g. reliability validity and predictability)
  • Build coach and maintain a highperforming and diverse team of analytical quantitative and businessminded individuals that collectively extract business insights that drives better business outcomes
  • Effectively work with crossfunctional partners to deliver integrated analytics reflecting the diverse contributions across the functions
  • Lead contract support and external suppliers to increase and enhance the use of advanced modeling and analytic methods and produce results that fully leverage available data and analytics

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree (Business Administration Statistics Economics) required with a concentration in marketing/sales/quantitative analysis.  Masters Degree preferred. 
  • 810 years of relevant experience in quantitative analysis of sales and marketing information is required including use of this information in the development of business plans and strategies.  Experience within in the Pharma/BioTech industry is strongly preferred. 
  • Strong analytical reasoning abilities intellectual curiosity strong business acumen and creativity in problem solving. Experience with current methods Analytics/Machine Learning.
  • Advanced experience with 3rd party pharmaceutical data sources like IQVIA/SHS Sales Data (APLD DDD Xponent NSP NPA) and Specialty pharmacy data and one or multiple analytic domains (promo optimization digital launch support etc)
  • Deep handson expertise in current analytical methods & tools (including machine learning)
  • Advanced communication and influencing skills
  • Advanced agility project management and prioritization skills
  • Advanced vendor management skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and to influence in a matrixed organization
  • High motivation strong workethic and positive attitude while working under tight timelines

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
