Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


Yours is a role which will oversee and lead a dedicated team in resolving AOG spare part requirements swiftly and efficiently. This critical role ensures the optimised return to service of grounded aircraft while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

In this role, you must collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and OEMs to manage spare part inventory, establish efficient procurement processes, and allocate resources effectively. You will also develop AOG response policies, track key performance indicators, and contribute to budget forecasting thereby minimising operational disruptions.

Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection
Routine Maintenance: Oversee and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for all aircraft in the fleet to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Maintenance Schedule: Develop and manage maintenance schedules, ensuring that each aircraft undergoes regular inspections and service.
Inspection Oversight: Ensure all required inspections are completed, including pre-flight, post-flight, periodic, and in-depth maintenance checks.
Maintenance Documentation: Ensure that all maintenance work, repairs, and inspections are properly documented in accordance with aviation regulations.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the fleet of aircraft complies with all local, regional, and international aviation laws and regulations, including safety standards from authorities like the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) or EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency).
Safety Standards: Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols to maintain a high level of safety for aircraft, passengers, and crew.
Audit and Inspection Preparation: Coordinate and prepare for audits and inspections by regulatory authorities, ensuring all records, certifications, and systems are in place.


Desired candidate profile


Degree qualified, you will demonstrate a minimum of 10 years within aviation. Your expertise includes demonstrated experience leading airline spare parts and logistics teams with a proven track record in AOG operations - you’re an expert in managing high-stakes situations.

You bring strong problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills, along with a high degree of professionalism and adaptability.

Fleet Management and Operation
Fleet Optimization: Monitor and optimize the fleet’s operations, ensuring maximum efficiency, reducing aircraft downtime, and improving utilization.
Operational Scheduling: Collaborate with scheduling and operations teams to ensure aircraft availability and readiness for scheduled flights or missions.
Aircraft Utilization: Monitor the utilization of each aircraft, ensuring they are being used efficiently and in accordance with their operational limits.
Performance Tracking: Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including aircraft downtime, maintenance costs, and operational efficiency.
Budgeting and Cost Control
Budgeting: Develop and manage the aircraft management budget, ensuring the fleet operates within financial constraints while maintaining safety and reliability.
Cost Optimization: Implement cost-effective practices in areas such as aircraft maintenance, fuel consumption, and parts procurement.
Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with third-party service providers, including maintenance contractors, suppliers, and parts vendors to ensure competitive pricing and service quality.
