Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
7+ Years of experience
Safety Expertise: Deep knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and industry-specific safety standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ANSI, NFPA, EPA).
Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement strategies for mitigating operational safety risks. Strong experience with hazard analysis tools such as HAZOP, FMEA, or JSA.
Leadership & Team Management: Proven track record of leading, training, and developing safety teams. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead safety initiatives and communicate safety protocols to employees at all levels.
Regulatory Compliance: Expertise in ensuring operations comply with relevant safety laws, regulations, and industry standards. Ability to stay current on new safety regulations and integrate them into operations.
Incident Investigation & Reporting: Expertise in investigating safety incidents and accidents, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions. Strong report-writing skills for creating incident reports, safety audit findings, and compliance documentation.
Training & Development: Ability to design, implement, and lead safety training programs, ensuring all team members are educated on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and risk management techniques.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for creating safety policies, reports, and communicating effectively with teams and leadership.
Emergency Response Planning: Strong understanding of emergency response procedures and the ability to develop and implement plans for handling emergencies, including evacuation, medical emergencies, and disaster recovery.
Continuous Improvement: Focus on creating a culture of continuous safety improvement, identifying areas of weakness, and implementing proactive measures to prevent accidents.
