Supervise Subordinates within the Petchem Engineering Section including assigning work activities, determine work priorities, monitoring workflow and reviewing results. Manage and develop yearly objectives and Key Performance Indicators for Subordinates
.Act as a coach to subordinates, identify their training and career development, recommend training courses and follow-up on their personnel records such as timesheets, discipline, vacations, leaves and absenteeism
.Participate in the development of Process Engineering strategies and plans in coordination with all concerned Organizations; and ensure providing the necessary support and advice for effective implementation
.Ensure that the Process Engineering Strategy is continuously developed and updated in line with SATORP's objectives and the industry best practices
.Ensure compliance to all relevant HSEQ management procedures and controls
.Manage Technical Assistance provided to the Petchem Operating Plants (Cracker, HDPE, Derivatives & Supporting Units). Take all necessary initiative/actions to improve the safety, availability, productivity and to reduce the costs. Coordinate and lead the performance testing and plant trials. Arrange assistance in troubleshooting plant issues
.Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the plant operations, processes and practices. Initiate and guide new studies (process improvement, catalyst replacement, etc.) to overcome bottlenecks in the Plants. Advise for the implementation of new technologies
.Manage and Administer the Technical Services Agreements with Licensors. Lead the effective coordination of all technical support programs from Licensors, Vendors, and Consultants
.Oversee all feasibility studies, major and minor modifications to improve plant process safety, environmental compliance and operation
.Direct, oversee, review and approve the development of Process engineering related designs and detailed engineering works (performed in-house or by Engineering Contractors/Consultants). Proactively manage technical milestone delivery, identify potential obstacles and issues, devise contingency plans, and engage stakeholders at necessary decision points. Ensure value-engineering solutions are incorporated
.Approve the purchase of new process engineering tools
.Support Business Development. Advise for long term Research Program
.Participate in the conceptual stages of project development and contribute in defining grassroot/revamp project scope, goals and deliverables, develop Statement of Requirements (SOR) and liaise with Senior Management and stakeholders for approvals: typically prepare and present CAPEX Gate2 approval files
.Manage a study budget for long term development (budget -4 M$)
.Provide technical support to the Optimization Team
.Keep current with the latest techniques and technologies
.Participate in regional and international conferences and exhibitions concerning Petchem Process Engineering activities
.Manage and coordinate all process engineering related tendering and contracting activities, including attending pre-tender meetings, answering any questions raised by services/goods Supplies or Contractors, solving technical problems, evaluating technical tenders, reviewing and approving invoices, and ensuring compliance to contract conditions and specifications
