Job Description

A full time position for an experienced paralegal with an emphasis on commercial real estate transactions and procurement contracts to perform duties to support attorneys and Real Estate and Global Sourcing practice group initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support inhouse counsel in drafting reviewing and redlining legal documents related to the Companys real estate assets and procurement contracts including but not limited to leases vendor contracts amendments estoppels and nondisturbance agreements
  • Prepare formal notices in accordance with lease or contract terms including exercise of lease options or default notices
  • Assist in drafting preparing and issuing  lease and contract transaction summaries for internal approval
  • Research inquiries from internal stakeholders regarding lease and contract issues and obligations; recommend proper course of action in consultation with inhouse counsel to bring to resolution
  • Exercise discretion to evaluate and escalate matters to attorneys as appropriate
  • Manage and document workflow processes for lease and contract review process approvals and signatures
  • Act as the departments primary point of contact for CoStar Real Estate Manager system and lease documentation matters.  Collaborate with accounting team and Geo leaders to support the lease administration workflow.
  • Manage other delegated projects that support the practice groups initiatives including coordinating resources and collaborating with internal and external parties as required
  • Manage organization of all electronic and hard filing systems for practice groups documentation
  • Develop implement and oversee sophisticated document production projects for real estate or procurement litigation as needed         Maintain the practice groups insite and collaboration site pages
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in order to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks
  • Provide effective written and oral communications to internal and external stakeholders 
  • Complete other work and projects as assigned

Qualifications :

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree associates degree paralegal certificate from an ABAapproved program or significant prior practical experience
  • 3 years of experience as a practicing paralegal in a law firm or inhouse legal department 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience performing the functions of a real estate paralegal or substantially similar experience preferably in a corporate real estate environment
  • Experience in contract management/negotiation document/knowledge management systems and project management preferred
  • Knowledge of legal principles and terminology and legal research techniques
  • Strong analytical written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Relevant computer knowledge and experience with the ability to adapt to and embrace legal process optimization tools and technologies 
  • Fluent oral and written English required and fluency in additional languages an asset


Additional Information :

A successful candidate must pass Expeditors preemployment background check.

Expected base salary: $68000 $78000

Eligible for bonus
