Physician (Family or Internal Medicine)
The Physician is responsible for providing medical diagnosis treatment and quality healthcare services in an ambulatory care setting. This role includes serving as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) with a designated patient panel delivering care consistent with training and expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Provide and manage direct patient care including physical exams evaluations diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
- Prescribe medications and treatment regimens as appropriate.
- Refer patients to specialists and other care components as needed.
- Adhere to departmental policies procedures and objectives.
- Maintain professional relationships with staff and patients.
- Perform tasks aligned with clinic goals and objectives as directed by the Medical Director.
- Fulfill care team responsibilities as outlined in PatientCentered Medical Home procedures.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Primary care physician experience preferred but new residency graduates are welcome.
- Valid and unrestricted California medical license.
- Boardcertified or Boardeligible in relevant medical specialty.
- Current DEA registration for prescribing medications.
- Experience in an outpatient healthcare setting preferred; FQHC experience is desirable.
- EPIC Electronic Health Records (EHR) experience is a plus.
- Must maintain Continued Medical Education (CME) requirements for certification renewal.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage an average of 1822 patients per day based on the FTE schedule.
- CPR certification required.
- Proficient in observing assessing and recording symptoms reactions and progress.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for medical care.
- Familiarity with pharmaceuticals prescribing practices and nonpharmaceutical care aids.
- Awareness of community medical diagnostic and patient care resources.
- Commitment to maintaining quality safety and infection control standards.
- Expertise in current medical evaluation diagnosis and treatment methods.
- Ability to supervise mentor and train clinical professionals including PAs FNPs and students.
- Capable of working independently and in a team environment.
