Position Qualifications / Requirements
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5 or more years of equivalent work experience.
- Working technical knowledge of server hardware including IBM Power systems.
- Excellent technical knowledge of Linux server operating systems.
- Indepth experience configuring and supporting Linux virtualization technologies that include IBM PowerVM and VMware.
- Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Working technical knowledge of scripting code using Perl CGI and C shell scripting tools.
- Experience installing configuring and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment including SCSI RAID and I/O topology.
- General knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue.
- Business process and reengineering experience as well as an understanding of the relationship between processes and policies.
- Experience in clustering and/or high availability solutions that include IBM PowerHA.
- Handson hardware and OS troubleshooting experience.
- Working technical knowledge of current network protocols SAN Infrastructure firewall management and backup/restore solutions
