Job Description
We are hiring a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional for one of our clients in Port Huron MI.
Job Description:
Will be involved in working with all disciplines on the Mental Health Unit to attain effectiveness in serving the patient population.
Job Duties:
- Performs individual and group therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
- Performs administrative consultives for specialized social services as determined by the specific needs of the Institution.
- Perform specific psychiatric social service work on the Mental Health Unit of a Correctional Facility.
- Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects. May direct special projects as requested.
- Participates in and conducts inservice programs as well as assists in the orientation of new staff.
- Provides the necessary preparation of documentation necessary records and reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a Masters level program in mental health services.
- Minimum of two years employment in a social work capacity in a public or private agency or equivalent.
- Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report.
Work environment:
- Correctional officers provide security; however some degree of risk of verbal and physical from inmates exists.
- As in any healthcare setting employees may be exposed to communicable and/or infectious diseases.
- Inside work with periodic traveling (inter and intra state) to other locations with exposure to weather temperature extremes and hazardous road conditions.
- Frequent standing and walking while presenting or performing job duties.
- Adheres to site/contract specific oncall requirements.
Work Hours:
- Shift: First Shift
- 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Meal: 30 minutes
