Job Description
Position Qualifications / Requirements
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5 or more years of equivalent work experience.
Working technical knowledge of server hardware including IBM Power systems.
Excellent technical knowledge of Linux server operating systems.
Indepth experience configuring and supporting Linux virtualization technologies that include IBM PowerVM and VMware.
Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
Working technical knowledge of scripting code using Perl CGI and C shell scripting tools.
Experience installing configuring and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment including SCSI RAID and I/O topology.
General knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue.
Business process and reengineering experience as well as an understanding of the relationship between processes and policies.
Experience in clustering and/or high availability solutions that include IBM PowerHA.
Handson hardware and OS troubleshooting experience.
Working technical knowledge of current network protocols SAN Infrastructure firewall management and backup/restore solutions
