1. Procurement Management:
o Oversee the entire procurement process including sourcing purchasing and
negotiating contracts for goods and services required by the organization.
o Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery quality standards
and favorable pricing.
o Identify and evaluate new suppliers and manufacturers ensuring they meet
company requirements and compliance standards.
o Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business
goals and optimize costefficiency.
o Maintain procurement records and documentation ensuring compliance
with internal policies and legal requirements.
2. Supplier & Vendor Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers vendors and service
providers.
o Evaluate supplier performance based on quality cost and delivery time and
work on continuous improvement.
o Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers such as delays product defects
or discrepancies.
o Negotiate prices payment terms and contracts with suppliers ensuring
favorable terms for the company.
3. Inventory and Stock Management:
o Monitor stock levels and place purchase orders to avoid stockouts or
overstocking situations.
o Collaborate with internal departments including warehouse and production
teams to ensure materials are available for operations.
o Oversee the receipt inspection and proper storage of materials to ensure
they meet company standards.
o Manage returns replacements and inventory adjustments for damaged
expired or incorrect goods.
4. Procurement Reporting & Analysis:
o Generate and present regular procurement reports including budget
analysis cost savings and supplier performance metrics.
o Monitor procurement trends and market conditions to identify potential
costsaving opportunities or sourcing improvements.
o Track and manage procurement budgets to ensure costeffective purchasing
decisions.
o Conduct detailed analysis to ensure procurement activities align with
business goals and recommend process improvements.
5. Processing & Order Fulfillment:
o Coordinate the processing of purchase orders ensuring they are completed
accurately and on time.
o Ensure that all orders meet quality standards and are delivered within agreed
timelines.
o Liaise with the finance department to ensure timely payments to suppliers
and resolve any discrepancies in invoicing or payment.
o Oversee the processing of procurement documents including purchase
orders contracts and invoices ensuring accuracy and compliance.
6. Compliance and Risk Management:
o Ensure compliance with company policies industry regulations and
standards in all procurement activities.
o Stay updated with any changes in procurement laws regulations or best
practices.
o Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement such as supplier
defaults delivery delays or regulatory noncompliance.
7. CrossFunctional Collaboration:
o Work closely with the operations finance and production teams to
understand their requirements and provide appropriate procurement
support.
o Support new product development by sourcing materials components and
suppliers in coordination with the R&D or product teams.
o Collaborate with the logistics and warehouse teams to ensure the smooth
flow of goods and optimize supply chain operations.
8. Process Improvement:
o Continuously assess and improve procurement and processing workflows to
drive efficiency and reduce operational costs.
o Implement procurement best practices and contribute to the development of
policies guidelines and procedures.
o Automate procurement processes such as esourcing or supplier portals to
streamline order processing and enhance data accuracy.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Business Supply Chain Management Operations or a
related field.
o A postgraduate qualification (MBA PGDM) in Supply Chain Procurement or
Operations Management is a plus.
• Experience:
o 35 years of experience in procurement purchasing or supply chain
management.
o Experience in managing supplier/vendor relationships negotiation and
purchasing activities.
o Knowledge of procurement processes and sourcing strategies in a corporate
environment.
o Familiarity with inventory management stock tracking and order fulfillment.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in procurement software (e.g. SAP Oracle Tally or similar ERP
systems).
o Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for tracking procurement data supplier
analysis and reporting.
o Familiarity with esourcing tools and electronic procurement platforms is a
plus.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms with
suppliers.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of building
effective relationships with suppliers vendors and internal stakeholders.
o Attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
o Problemsolving mindset capable of addressing procurement issues
efficiently.
o Strong analytical skills to assess supplier performance costs and market
trends.
