Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate intensive strengthsbased sessions for children aged 10 18 and their families who have been referred to childrens social care. We facilitate a bespoke threephase intervention for adolescents on the Edge of Care to improve relationships and communication within families promoting good outcomes for children in Havering.
You will be required to develop Planned Purposeful and Focused interventions in collaboration with families and professionals to reduce blame and increase strengths within the family.
You will work intensively with children and families using theory and practice informed by Systemic Family Therapy in line with Havering s FacetoFace practice model.
Our Family Practitioners have access to training in Systemic Practice as well as consultations and coworking opportunities with qualified Systemic Practitioners and Systemic Family Therapists within the team.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Systemic practice training
Minimum 2 years experience working in a family facing local authority/childrens services setting.
Skills/Experience:
A knowledge and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Ability to adapt information according to the needs of the recipient.
Ability to work effectively in a team and/or on own initiative.
Ability to write comprehensive reports maintain concise and up to date case records.
Diversity: Recognise diversity and apply antidiscriminatory and antioppressive principles in practice. Rights Justice & Economic Wellbeing: Advance human rights and promote social justice and economic wellbeing. Knowledge: Apply knowledge of social sciences law and social work practice theory. Critical Reflection & Analysis: Apply critical reflection and analysis to inform and provide a rationale for professional decisionmaking.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation influencing and consensusbuilding skills. Good networking and relationshipbuilding skills.
Good general ICT skills including familiarity with desktop applications such as MS Word Excel and Outlook.
Skilled in modelling critical reflection and evidencebased decisionmaking and support others in developing these skills.
Skilled in routinely and efficiently applying critical reflection and analysis to increasingly complex cases.
A high level of selfmanagement and organisational skills including the ability to manage a complex and demanding workload with multiple priorities.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills to empathise with and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience of assessment and planning for children and young people and of case recording using administrative and monitoring systems.
