Job Description

For one of our clients in the mining and metals industry we are seeking a professional for a key role within their consolidation team. Based in Montr al this position offers a dynamic work environment promoting collaboration across global teams. It is a 6month contract with the potential to transition to a fulltime role based on performance.

What is in it for you:
Salaried: $68 to $75 per hour.
Incorporated Business Rate: $80 to $88 per hour.
6month contract 6month contract with the goal of transitioning to a permanent fulltime position.
Fulltime position: 37.5 hours per week usually with overtime expected for monthend and yearend activities
Hybrid work: 3 days per week at the Montreal office.

Responsibilities:
Participate the monthly consolidation of Rio Tinto s Product Groups.
Train and guide team to deliver qualitative and timely results.
Prepare and conduct training programs for Internal and Offshore teams.
Analysing consolidated financial statements to ensure output is compliant to the requirements of all stakeholders.
Preparing financial reports for senior management.
Providing HFM guidance and other accounting advice to our controllership and finance service team to improve performance.
Ensure periodic Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) compliance as applicable support and liaise with Internal/External Auditors during SOX and Substantive audits so as to ensure a fully compliant environment.
Continuously improving our processes with an innovative mindset by leveraging data analytics and digital solution.
Collaborating with various teams across the global organisation.

What you will need to succeed:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance accounting certification CPA or equivalent.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in consolidation in a large multinational multicurrency organization
Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) would be an asset.
Strong understanding of IFRS.
Experience in preparing consolidated statement of cash flows is an asset.
Understanding of accounting for financial assets and liabilities is an asset.
Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Ability to work with various teams spread throughout many countries and timezones.
Strong written and oral communication skills in French and English
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Analytical and problem solving skills including varice analysis capabilities.
Ability to speak read and write in English and French.
Beneficial to have SAP experience.
