Piping Supervisor

Roles and responsibilities

Enter the time sheets for workers and equipment on daily basis
Inform PM about idling of equipment due to breakdown and lack of work front
Initiate inspection request, prepare quality records and forward to QA/QC personnel
Liaise with lab personnel for testing activities
Liaise with PM/CM/QA/QC personnel and clarify technical doubts
Control and minimize the wastage of materials and consumables
Analyze the output of manpower and equipment, work out the production target for each activity
Request for material from stores through MIS through Project Engineer
Thoroughly understand the Permit To Work system and ensure implementation

Supervision and Coordination
Team Leadership: Supervise and manage the activities of the piping installation team, including fitters, welders, and laborers, ensuring the work is completed on time and to the required quality.
Work Scheduling: Plan and coordinate the daily activities of the team, ensuring proper distribution of tasks and resources, and ensuring the crew meets project timelines.
Worksite Coordination: Ensure effective communication and coordination with other supervisors, project managers, and engineers on-site to ensure that the piping work aligns with other aspects of the project.

Desired candidate profile

Piping Installation and Construction
Piping Layout and Installation: Oversee the installation of piping systems, ensuring they are installed according to the design drawings, specifications, and safety standards. This includes setting up and guiding the team in the proper alignment, assembly, and installation of pipes, fittings, and valves.
Blueprint and Drawing Interpretation: Review construction and design drawings and specifications to understand the scope and requirements of the piping work. Ensure that the team follows the specifications and drawings accurately.
Welding and Fitting Oversight: Supervise welding and fitting activities, ensuring the proper welding techniques are followed, and the materials used meet the required standards.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Quality Control: Ensure that all piping installations are completed to the highest quality standards and comply with applicable codes (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API). Conduct regular inspections to ensure work is carried out to specification.
Inspection: Conduct or coordinate inspections of completed work to ensure that piping systems are correctly installed, aligned, and free from defects.
Documenting Work: Ensure that all work is properly documented, including daily progress reports, quality assurance checks, and any changes to the original plans or specifications.
. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management
Safety Management: Enforce site safety standards, ensuring that all personnel adhere to safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and are aware of potential hazards.
Risk Assessment: Conduct regular safety assessments and address any hazards or unsafe conditions that could affect the workers or the work environment.
Environmental Compliance: Ensure that the project complies with environmental standards and regulations, particularly in industries like oil and gas or petrochemical, where environmental impact is a major concern.
