You will join our Building Services department

As our new Principal Electrical Engineer you will be part of a highly dynamic team. Our Building Services team has a deep focus on technical delivery and an excellent understanding of client care. You will be an important part of a closeknit team working on a wide variety of project work in and around Southampton. There is also the opportunity to get involved in international signature projects if desired. We offer a supporting and collaborative culture and environment in which you can develop and grow in your role. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver sustainable design solutions to the required standards and supervise the work of others in this function
  • You will be able to demonstrate good competency across the full spectrum of design stages; from developing building services strategies at Stage 2 to writing detailed specifications at Stage 4 as well as supervising works on site.
  • Manage time on projects to suit deadlines and complete their assigned tasks as stipulated by the Ramboll project design manager
  • Actively support the project manager in organising the breakdown of tasks and their dependencies on delivery deadlines
  • Have a focus on client and industry relations that seek to promote the reputation of yourself and Ramboll in order to build upon your business development focus.
  • Collaboration with industry partners and clients to successfully deliver projects and provide opportunities to secure repeat work.
  • You will be technically and project focused rather than managerial working with your regional technical directors you will provide input to technical implementation and quality to ensure the delivery of technical excellence. 

Your key deliverables over the first 1224 months for this role will be:

  • Maintain excellent levels of client service
  • Help to develop and promote Rambolls multidiscipline capability in the local market
  • Ensure Ramboll Q.A procedures are implemented
  • Make a meaningful contribution to our technical excellence strategy

  • To be a qualified Engineer having a proven and demonstrable track record in your discipline
  • To have a CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree or an HNC in an applicable discipline with commitment to continue with higher education
  • To have achieved IEng Status and working towards CEng
  • To have an understanding of financial arrangements for projects including fee forecasting fee preparation and allocation
  • Be accustomed to providing guidance to graduates and technicians demonstrating your indepth understanding of design engineering
  • Have a proven ability to work on a number of projects at any one time
  • Be forward thinking and passionate about digital design innovation and smart design in an increasingly digitalized construction arena
  • Demonstrate compliance in tools such as Amtech Relux MagiCad Revit
  • Ideally you will have experience across different sectors such as Building Services Design Site surveys & inspections Snagging Client & design team meetings
