Job Description: Medical Biller

Position Overview:
We are seeking a fulltime Medical Biller with expertise in surgical coding and billing to join our team. The role involves handling billing operations for a multispecialty ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center). Familiarity with HST EMR is preferred. The ideal candidate will coordinate effectively with healthcare providers insurance companies and patients to ensure accurate and efficient billing processes.
Work Schedule:
- Aligns with US work hours to facilitate collaboration with insurance companies and healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Billing Operations:
- Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness resolving discrepancies.
- Submit claims to insurance companies ensuring they are accurate and complete for prompt payment.
- Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances when necessary.
- Process and issue patient statements addressing inquiries regarding charges and account status.
- Followup and Collections:
- Track unpaid and disputed claims ensuring timely resolution.
- Perform various collection actions including contacting patients and resubmitting corrected claims to thirdparty payers.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies.
- Compliance and Confidentiality:
- Verify insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.
- Collaboration and Updates:
- Liaise with healthcare providers patients and insurers for seamless billing operations.
- Stay updated on changes in billing regulations and procedures for thirdparty payers.
- Technical Proficiency:
- HST EMR experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in surgical coding and billing is required.
- Strong knowledge of insurance and billing regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients providers and insurers.
- Proficiency in maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
