Senior Network Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

Designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure for our clients.

Configuring and troubleshooting network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.

Monitoring network performance and ensuring the reliability and security of the network.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems.

Keeping up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and trends.

Providing technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues.

Documenting network configurations and maintaining accurate network documentation.

Conducting network assessments and making recommendations for improvement.

Assisting in the evaluation and selection of network equipment and software.
Network Design and Architecture
Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure network infrastructures that meet organizational needs.
Create network diagrams and detailed documentation outlining the design of network solutions, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud network architectures.
Evaluate business requirements and design network solutions that optimize performance, security, and redundancy.
Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and best practices, and recommend upgrades or changes to improve network performance.
Network Installation and Configuration
Install, configure, and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.
Configure IP addressing, VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and network security policies.
Manage and configure network equipment across different environments (on-premises, hybrid, or cloud).
Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting
Monitor the performance of the network using monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios) to ensure it runs efficiently and without issues.
Proactively identify and resolve network issues such as congestion, latency, and downtime.
Troubleshoot complex network problems, including hardware failures, misconfigurations, and connectivity issues, often working under time constraints.
Perform root cause analysis of recurring network issues and implement corrective actions.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
5+ years of experience in network engineering or a similar role
Strong knowledge of network protocols, standards, and technologies
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting network devices
Knowledge of network security best practices
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Certifications such as CCNP ,CCIE ,SISE,SSFIPS and Palo Alto Network
Network Security
Implement and manage network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and encryption techniques.
Ensure that the network is protected against cyber threats by managing access control policies, firewall rules, and security patches.
Perform network audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate security risks.
Stay informed on the latest network security trends, attacks, and solutions to maintain network integrity.
Network Optimization
Continuously evaluate network performance and optimize configurations to improve speed, reliability, and redundancy.
Implement network performance tuning strategies to address bottlenecks, latency issues, and poor throughput.
Evaluate and implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prioritize critical traffic and ensure efficient network usage.
