Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


Design, develop, and implement interactive learning elements, including interactive presentations, quizzes, games, simulations, and assessments
Collaborate with instructional designers and subject matter experts to gather requirements and convert them into functional learning elements
Ensure the learning elements are user-friendly, accessible, and compatible with different devices and platforms
Integrate multimedia elements, such as audio, video, and graphics, into the learning materials
Troubleshoot and debug any technical issues related to the learning elements
Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to continuously improve the learning experiences
Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in e-learning and instructional design
1. Content Creation:
Develop Educational Materials: Design and create lesson plans, worksheets, quizzes, and other teaching resources that align with learning objectives.
Create Digital Learning Tools: Develop interactive digital content such as simulations, games, and multimedia resources (videos, animations, and interactive exercises) to engage students.
Course Design: Create online courses and modules, including content, assessments, and multimedia that support effective learning.
Instructional Design: Apply principles of instructional design to ensure learning materials are clear, engaging, and pedagogically sound.
2. Learning Management Systems (LMS):
LMS Integration: Work with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) to ensure content is well-organized and easily accessible to learners.
Course Deployment: Upload, organize, and manage learning modules on LMS platforms, ensuring they are user-friendly and fully functional.
Track Learner Progress: Utilize LMS tools to track learner engagement, progress, and performance in real time, making adjustments to content as needed.
3. Technology Integration:
Incorporate Emerging Technologies: Use new educational technologies like virtual classrooms, mobile apps, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality to enhance the learning experience.
Adapt Content for Multiple Platforms: Ensure content works across various devices, including computers, tablets, and smartphones, and that it is accessible for all users.
Interactive Features: Implement interactive features such as quizzes, discussions, polls, and feedback tools to engage learners.
4. Collaboration and Consultation:
Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): Collaborate with educators, instructors, or subject matter experts to create accurate and relevant content for courses or learning modules.
Consult with Stakeholders: Work closely with instructional designers, trainers, and educational coordinators to ensure content meets the specific learning needs of the target audience.
Provide Feedback: Review and assess the effectiveness of the content through feedback and data analysis, making adjustments to improve learner outcomes.


Desired candidate profile


Proven experience as a developer, preferably in the e-learning industry
Proficiency in programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and/or Python
Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and learning content management systems (LCMS)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Knowledge of instructional design principles and learning theories is a plus
Testing and Quality Assurance:
Test Learning Tools: Ensure that digital learning tools and resources function properly by conducting thorough testing and fixing any bugs or issues.
Evaluate Content Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness of learning elements by reviewing user feedback and learning analytics to continuously improve course content.
Quality Control: Ensure the content meets quality standards, adheres to educational guidelines, and is free of errors or inaccuracies.
. Adaptation and Customization:
Modify Learning Content: Tailor learning content to fit different learner needs, such as creating specialized materials for different levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) or learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic).
Localization and Personalization: Adapt materials to suit specific cultural contexts or personal learning preferences, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
Gamification: Incorporate elements of gamification, such as points, leaderboards, and achievements, to enhance student engagement and motivation.
Continuous Improvement:
Iterative Development: Regularly update learning content to reflect new trends, information, or feedback from learners and stakeholders.
Research Trends: Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in the field of education, particularly in the areas of digital learning, instructional design, and technology.
Analyze Learner Data: Review performance data and student feedback to assess the impact of learning elements and identify areas for improvement.
