Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Arabic Computer Systems, a leading ICT Company in Saudi Arabia, is seeking an experienced CCTV Technician to join our team of over 3,000 IT professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing CCTV systems for government entities and leading companies in the Middle East. With over 35 years of industry experience, ACS is expanding its strong business development to acquire cutting edge technology for our enterprise customers. As a CCTV Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our valued clients.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, troubleshoot and repair CCTV equipment and systems
Conduct site surveys, plan and perform installations of various CCTV systems and equipment
Conduct routine maintenance on surveillance cameras and systems, including backups and software updates
Diagnose and repair faults in cameras, cable, lens and other components
Work with clients to design, develop and implement customized CCTV solutions
Train clients on the installation and use of CCTV systems
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new CCTV technologies and equipment
Installation of CCTV Systems:
Camera Placement: Determine the optimal placement of CCTV cameras based on the area’s surveillance needs and coverage requirements. This may involve assessing the location, angles, and light conditions for best camera performance.
Wiring and Setup: Install and connect wiring, cameras, recorders, and monitors. This can involve both wired and wireless setups, depending on the system design.
System Configuration: Set up and configure CCTV systems, including adjusting camera angles, settings, and ensuring integration with other security systems, such as alarm systems and access control systems.
Integration with Networks: Set up networked CCTV systems, ensuring proper connection with a central monitoring system or remote access for viewing the footage.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on CCTV equipment, such as cleaning cameras, checking the condition of wiring, and testing the system for any issues.
System Testing: Conduct system checks to ensure that cameras, recording devices, and monitors are functioning properly. Ensure all components are recording and transmitting video as intended.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues that may arise with CCTV systems, including power failures, malfunctioning cameras, or problems with storage devices.
Firmware and Software Updates: Install updates to camera firmware, system software, or video recording software to ensure the system runs smoothly and remains secure.


Desired candidate profile


Minimum of 3 years' experience in a CCTV installation and maintenance role
Strong understanding of CCTV technology, equipment and systems
Ability to diagnose and repair faults in cameras, cable, lens and other components
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients directly
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites
Must be fluent in both Arabic and English, both spoken and written
Upgrades and System Expansion:
Upgrade Systems: Recommend and implement system upgrades when necessary, such as replacing outdated equipment or expanding coverage with additional cameras or recording devices.
Expand Existing Systems: Add new cameras, sensors, or devices to an existing CCTV network to expand coverage or improve security in additional areas.
Technical Support:
Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers and end-users, explaining how the CCTV system works, how to access footage, and how to use any connected devices or software.
Remote Monitoring Assistance: Assist customers in setting up remote monitoring on mobile devices, allowing them to view live or recorded footage from any location.
Troubleshooting for Clients: Resolve technical issues via phone or on-site visits, especially if there are connectivity issues or hardware failures.
Documentation and Reporting:
System Documentation: Maintain records of CCTV installations, including camera locations, wiring diagrams, system settings, and configurations.
Troubleshooting Logs: Keep detailed logs of system issues, maintenance performed, and solutions implemented to maintain accurate records for future reference.
Compliance and Safety Reporting: Ensure that all installations and repairs comply with local laws and safety standards. Provide reports on system installations or repairs to ensure adherence to industry regulations.
