What youd be doing in this role
As an Art Director for Canvas Design School youll elevate the craft and raise the bar for our filmed and inproduct educational content. From directing onsite shoots to overseeing video production workflows youll ensure that all learning materials are visually engaging aspirational and aligned with Canvas brand identity.
This role involves working closely with videographers editors and designers to deliver certification courses and other learning assets. Youll conceptualize execute and refine video content that simplifies complex ideas and drives learner engagement.
At the moment this role is focused on:
- Lead shoot days for Design School certification content directing talent and guiding production teams on framing lighting and set design to achieve highquality results.
- Develop creative approaches to showcasing Canvas features and stepbystep tutorials in a way that is engaging clear and aspirational.
- Partner with designers videographers and editors to create cohesive and professional content.
- Review video and screenrecorded content providing constructive feedback to refine outputs and ensure brand alignment.
- Strategize and oversee production processes ensuring efficiency and alignment with deadlines and project goals.
- Work with multiple teams across Canva to align on creative direction and project objectives.
- Track the performance of content integrating insights to inform and improve future projects.
Youre probably a match if
- You have 4 years as an Art Director with a proven track record of delivering highquality filmed content including liveaction and tutorialstyle videos.
- You have proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma Adobe Creative Suite and Canva with a deep understanding of filming and production workflows.
- you have strong ideation skills balancing conceptual thinking with handson execution.
- You have excellent verbal and visual communication skills with the ability to distill complex ideas into engaging visual stories.
- Youre a collaborative and resilient problem solver who thrives in fastpaced environments and values feedback as a growth tool.
- Youre positive empathetic teammate with a knack for crossfunctional collaboration and creative leadership.

Canvas inhouse creative team is on a mission to make Canva the one of the most locally loved brand in the world. We work from concept to creation on worldclass creative across brand communications marketing campaigns editorial content and production.
As a key player in this team youll craft engaging educational content that builds equity in our global brand while spotlighting our diverse community. With a focus on Design School your work will empower learners and ensure they have an inspiring humancentered experience with our platform.
