Job Description
Are you ready to drive innovation and empower small businesses in Africa As a Senior FullStack Software Engineer youll lead a highperforming scrum team to create nextgeneration business intelligence software that empowers entrepreneurs to thrive.
In this role youll blend technical expertise in frontend and backend development with leadership skills to ensure the delivery of robust scalable and impactful solutions.
Your responsibilities
Build powerful and scalable systems
- You will design develop test and maintain RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot and frontends using React JavaScript HTML5 and CSS3.
- You will ensure code quality and maintainability by refining and adhering to coding standards best practices and guidelines.
Lead and collaborate
- You will collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements contributing to architectural discussions and design decisions.
- You will provide technical leadership and mentorship fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Champion efficiency and reliability
- You will champion TestDriven Development (TDD) writing unit and integration tests to ensure software robustness and reliability.
- You will ensure your team follows the SDLC process (based on scrum) identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance productivity.
Troubleshooting and documentation
- You will troubleshoot and resolve issues with production systems.
- You will contribute to pragmatic and concise technical documentation to support development processes.

To be considered for this role you should have
- A strong engineering degree and at least 8 years of relevant software development experience (frontend and backend).
- 6 years of Java development with Spring Boot and JPA.
- 2 years of frontend development experience with React.
- Proficiency in TDD unit testing and CI principles.
- Intimate familiarity with development practices such as SOLID DRY and design patterns.
- Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases and strong SQL knowledge.
- Working knowledge of scrum and agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes is a plus.
