Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the medical department on board ships
Manage a team of nurses and provide guidance and support as needed
Develop and implement medical protocols and procedures to ensure the health and safety of crew members
Coordinate with the ships captain and crew to provide medical care and support as needed
Maintain accurate medical records and reports
Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment on board
Conduct regular training and drills for medical emergencies
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regulations and company policies
Communicate effectively with all levels of staff including crew members management and medical professionals on shore
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Nursing or a related field
Current and valid nursing license
Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing preferably in a leadership role
Experience working in a maritime or remote setting is a plus
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fastpaced environment
Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
Knowledge of medical equipment and procedures
Willingness to travel and work on board ships for extended periods of time
