Job Description

Position : INVENTORY OPERATIONS ANALYST

Work Hours : Monday to Friday 96pm
Timezone : CET
Holidays : Germany
Pay Range : USD/per month (The final offer is at the client's discretion and will be based on the candidate's skills and years of experience.)
Client Interview Process : 2 interviews with assessment

We are a Berlinbased startup revolutionizing the multibillioneuro industrial metals trading industry.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Inventory Sourcing & Data Management
  • Support the sales team in sourcing virtual material inventory from suppliers.
  • Standardize clean and structure inventory data according to internal guidelines.
  • Enrich inventory data using material standards (e.g. alternative grade names chemical and mechanical values).

Platform Management
  • Create and maintain inventory listings on the Vanilla Steel platform to ensure visibility for internal traders and external buyers.
  • Regularly update or delist inventory to maintain the accuracy and freshness of live data.

Process Optimization & Reporting
  • Track and analyze performance metrics related to inventory management (e.g. speed error rates conversion rates).
  • Continuously refine and enhance inventory processes to improve business performance.

PostTransaction Support
  • Assist in postdeal processes including ERP deal booking order confirmations and invoice processing.



Minimum Requirements:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Material Science or a related field.

Professional Experience
  • Prior experience in inventory planning data management or as a listing specialist in ecommerce platforms (e.g. Amazon eBay or Alibaba).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and manipulate large datasets effectively.

Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and the ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Looker Tableau) is an advantage.
  • Industry Knowledge
  • Solid understanding of materials particularly metals and their properties.
