Mission:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automated Quality Assurance (AQA) Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic firmware design team. The AQA Firmware Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing automated test strategies to ensure the highest quality of our firmware products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in firmware development test automation quality assurance processes and experience with HardwareintheLoop (HiL) testing.

Your responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Test Automation Frameworks

  • Design develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for firmware validation.
  • Implement automated testing strategies to improve test coverage and efficiency.

Create and Execute Test Plans

  • Collaborate with the firmware development team to understand product requirements and design comprehensive test plans.
  • Develop test cases and test scripts based on functional and nonfunctional requirements.

Firmware Testing and Validation

  • Perform automated and manual testing of firmware to identify defects and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Validate firmware functionality performance and reliability across various hardware platforms.

Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)

  • Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous testing and feedback.
  • Monitor and analyze test results report defects and work with the development team to resolve issues.

HardwareintheLoop (HiL) Testing

  • Develop and execute HiL tests to simulate and validate realworld hardware interactions with firmware.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable test results through rigorous HiL testing methodologies.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Document test procedures test cases and test results.
  • Provide detailed reports on test coverage test progress and defect status.

Quality Assurance Best Practices

  • Promote and implement best practices in automated testing and quality assurance.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in test automation and quality assurance methodologies.

To succeed in this role youll need a positive attitude and the following:

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in firmware development and testing.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing automated tests for firmware.
  • Knowledge and experience in HardwareintheLoop (HiL) testing.
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g. JIRA TestRail).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Extensive experience with HiL testing.

Skills

  • Strong programming skills in C/C and scripting languages such as Python.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Jenkins Robot Framework Selenium).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontroller architecture.
  • Understanding of communication protocols (e.g. UART I2C SPI).

Soft Skills

  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
