Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in the design of fire protection systems hydraulic calculations and relevant industry experience. This role involves the design analysis and implementation of fire protection systems to meet client requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop fire protection systems including sprinkler systems fire alarm systems and suppression systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure the adequacy and efficiency of fire protection systems.
- Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations.
- Prepare engineering drawings specifications and technical reports.
- Review and approve design documents ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with architects engineers and other stakeholders to integrate fire protection systems into overall building designs.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing fire protection systems and recommend improvements or upgrades.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams clients and contractors.
- Stay updated on industry trends codes standards and best practices in fire protection engineering.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals cost estimates and schedules.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Fire Protection Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in fire protection engineering with a focus on the design and analysis of fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in hydraulic calculations and software tools used in fire protection design.
- Strong understanding of NFPA codes standards and local building codes.
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detailoriented with a commitment to producing highquality work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
