We are seeking a Senior Project Architect to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for the leadership and technical execution of project design building code and stamping technical quality of project documentation. Multifamily or higher education projects experience preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring overall design intent of the project team is incorporated into the detailed documentation.
- Monitors the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration ensuring the design idea is consistent and properly executed.
- Writes and/or works with the project specification writer to develop specifications and is responsible for coordination of drawings and specifications.
- Plans and develops projects of various sizes and works under supervision
- Investigates evaluates and recommends design solutions prioritizes work receives guidance on complex issues
- Participates in crossdiscipline discussions and coordination with multidisciplinary teammates
- Participates in construction administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals responding to RFI’s working to solve construction issues and performing site visits to assess general conformance with the design concept
- Assists with marketing and business development activities
- Travel for projectrelated activities may be required
- Coordinating the work of junior professionals and technicians
- Consistently reviews work and communicate needs and concerns to project staff.
- Defines staff requirements for projects as needed or directed.
- All other duties and responsibilities as required.
Skills and Requirements:
- Professional (NAAB Accredited) Degree in Architecture / Licensed Architect
- 15 years of experience working in an architectural design firm leading the design team including the consultants
- Ability to handle job stress deadlines and interact effectively with others in the workplace is an essential function of the job
- Proficient with Revit for design and production including design team BIM technical leadership skills
- Graphic communication skills to support a variety of presentation media: presentation drawings marketing materials feasibility studies etc. Sketchup Photoshop Illustrator and/or InDesign skills
- Skilled in analytical thinking modeling and rendering to support the design process
- Selfmotivated individual able to work well in a collaborative office environment
- Good computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
