Job Title: Sensory Lab Technician
Shift: MF (8:0012:00) 1530 hours per week.
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)
Location: Springdale AR 72762
Position Summary:
The Sensory Science Intern will gain handson experience in sensory science by assisting sensory lab specialists in the design organization and execution of sensory tests that support various aspects of the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist sensory lab specialists in the design and execution of sensory tests to support product development and quality assurance efforts across the enterprise.
- Collect and organize sensory test data ensuring accuracy and consistency in data recording.
- Analyze sensory test data using established methodologies and software tools and contribute to report writing.
- Provide support for product cuttings and participate in product evaluation and testing.
- Assist with kitchen inventory ensuring proper stock levels and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the sensory lab environment.
- Adhere to cleaning protocols and ensure the sensory lab and kitchen areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Help with the preparation and shipping of materials for sensory testing and other related tasks.
- Assist with shopping for materials and supplies required for sensory testing and lab operations.
- Take on special projects designed to deepen understanding and knowledge of sensory science.
Requirements:
- Education: Current student or recent graduate with a Bachelors degree in Food Science Meat Science Sensory Science Animal Science Poultry Science Culinary Arts Psychology or Statistics preferred.
- Experience: Previous lab work experience in any field is required; sensory lab experience is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel. Familiarity with Word and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
