1. Test Planning and Strategy Development:
Develop Test Plans: A Testing Engineer creates detailed test plans that outline the scope, approach, resources, and schedule of testing activities. They determine the testing requirements based on the product specifications and customer needs.
Define Test Scenarios and Test Cases: Develop specific test scenarios and test cases that simulate real-world conditions or usage to ensure the product works under various situations. This can include functional tests, stress tests, and edge-case scenarios.
Test Strategy: Decide on the types of testing to be used (e.g., manual testing, automated testing, unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, etc.) depending on the project and product requirements.
2. Test Execution and Monitoring:
Execute Tests: Run the test cases on the product or system to ensure it meets the desired quality standards and performs as expected. This could involve hardware, software, or integrated systems testing.
Monitor and Record Results: During the testing process, monitor the performance of the system/product, record test results, and document any deviations, defects, or failures. Testing Engineers often use testing tools or frameworks to automate or streamline the process.
Reproduce Issues: If a bug or issue is identified, the Testing Engineer reproduces the issue to ensure it is consistent and traceable. They work with developers or other engineers to understand the root cause of the problem.

Personal skills
Bug and Defect Reporting:
Identify Defects: Detect and identify software bugs, hardware malfunctions, performance issues, or any other defects that prevent the product from meeting the requirements.
Report Defects: Create detailed bug reports for developers or relevant stakeholders, including information on how to reproduce the issue, test environment settings, and possible impact. Defect reports must be clear and actionable.
Defect Tracking: Use tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or Quality Center to log, track, and manage defects through resolution. Testing Engineers may also follow up with developers to ensure defects are addressed and re-test after fixes are made.
. Automation and Tool Development:
Automate Repetitive Tests: In software or complex systems, testing engineers may automate repetitive or complex tests using testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, Appium, TestNG). This allows for more efficient testing and regression checks.
Tool Development: In some cases, Testing Engineers may also develop or configure custom test scripts, tools, or frameworks that improve test execution and enhance the efficiency of the testing process.
Test Documentation:
Test Reports: Generate test reports that summarize the results of the tests, including any defects found, test coverage, and overall product quality. These reports are used by project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to assess the product’s readiness.
Maintain Test Records: Keep detailed records of test cases, test data, and test results for future reference or audits. This helps in tracking the testing progress and making sure that all requirements are met.
